This Peru tour package showcases the best of Cusco and the Sacred Valley before taking you on the journey of a lifetime along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. One of the world’s most famous treks, the ancient Inca Trail will lead you alongside massive Andean peaks and down into the cloud forest, while you stop to explore enormous Inca ruins, witness condors and orchids and hummingbirds, and learn about the great engineering skills and the complex civilization of the Incas.
You will start your adventure in Cusco, host to a fascinating mix of colonial and ancient architecture. Here you’ll explore the city on an expert-guided Cusco City tour, and then experience the surrounding areas with a tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Cusco sits at 11,000 feet (3,400 meters) above sea level – a higher altitude than the Sacred Valley, most of the Inca Trail (apart from the high passes), and Machu Picchu. Spending time in Cusco will therefore help you to acclimate and prepare for the challenge ahead.
Once you have explored all that Cusco has to offer, you’ll start your journey on the famous Inca Trail. This is more than a hike; it is an excursion into the past, where you can learn about Inca civilization, culture, and society. The journey, as well as the final destination – the impressively beautiful ruins of Machu Picchu – are equally breathtaking. Completion of this difficult trek not only provides travelers with a sense of accomplishment, but also with a greater understanding of how the Incas lived and thrived. This Peru vacation is the perfect mix of culture, history, and adventure for the eager traveler.
Please let us know as soon as possible if you are interested in booking the Inca Trail. Only 500 people per day (including guides and porters) are allowed to enter the Inca Trail and permits are regulated by local authorities. During the high season (June/July/August), it is best to secure your Inca Trail permit at least 6 months in advance. During the rest of the year, we recommend securing your Inca Trail permit at least 3 months in advance.

Our tours are Fully Customizable and leave 365 days a year! Our travel experts are happy to help.
